Nyimine Empowerment CBO focuses on enhancing community health through advocacy, capacity building, and conducting Community Led Health Monitoring (CLHM). Our commitment to empower communities led us to implement the Living The Dream project (LTD) in Kambajo dispensary in Bondo sub county, Siaya county. The project is about health monitoring and advocacy and ensuring that the community’s voices are heard and their health needs are met.

A struggle to find essential health services.

Imagine a community where accessing essential health service was like finding a needle in a haystack. That was the reality for the people of Kambajo before the Living The Dream project. The Kambajo dispensary a vital healthcare facility, the service delivery points remained hidden as it lacked any form of signage or indication. Many clients who visited the dispensary were unaware of the service points and this posed risks as delayed treatment could worsen health condition of the Client.

Recognizing these challenges, NYECBO implemented the Living the Dream project in Kambajo. This initiative focused on community engagement, leading to the introduction of clear signage to direct clients at the dispensary. After the introduction of clear signage, the signage displays the service points, making it easily identifiable for the clients. Clients can now locate service points with confidence, knowing exactly where to go for their healthcare needs; this has led to better health outcomes. The community involvement in advocating for signage has fostered a sense of ownership. Community members have felt empowered to engage with local health services, knowing that their voices have contributed positive change. #NYECBOVoices. #NyimineNyaloNyimineMalo.
